PUBLIC SCOPING HEARING
MAJOR PARK DIVERSION

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE The Morris County Park Commission will present an application for a major diversion of parkland at a Scoping Hearing to be held on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 6:00 PM at the Camp Jefferson, Community Lodge, 81 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey 07849. The Scoping Hearing will be held as part of the Morris County Park Commission Meeting. The Major Diversion Application is for the construction of a portion of an overhead electric transmission line as a part of the Roseland to Susquehanna Overhead Electric Transmission Project. One of the properties to be crossed is a 5.53 acre site, designated as Block 320, Lot 9; an additional property to be crossed is an 11.0 acre site, designated as Block 335, Lot 4 on the Township of Jefferson, Morris County, New Jersey tax map. This diversion will encumber 0.002 acres (approximately 100 square feet) of parkland, currently occupied by a Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) right-of-way. No structures will be placed within the diversion areas; only the proposed transmission line will traverse the property. PSE&G is proposing the new line to comply with a directive from PJM Interconnection, L.L.C. (PJM) in order to ensure continued compliance with the regional electric transmission reliability. In constructing the proposed project, PSE&G is strengthening its regional power supply, and ensuring continued power to consumers during partial system failures.

Any interested party may appear at said hearing and participate therein according with the rules of the Park Commission. Should you be unable to attend, written comments may be submitted to the Morris County Park Commission by August 10, 2009. Please send all correspondence to:
